I often plan for meals on a Sunday and then shop for the week. I stick tightly to the plan and try to shop in green grocers and butchers when I can. Local markets are great places for cheaper foods. I try to stay away from supermarkets because I find them to be a trap, lots of temptations for things I don't really need. There is nothing worse than walking into the supermarket and coming out with a stack of things I don't want. Some great strategies on savings here. They are by far my favorite. Their selection is perfect, especially if you don't watch only mainstream movies. Blockbuster censors their movies and doesn't carry certain titles that are readily available on Netflix. If you like Documentaries or Foreign Films or LGBT films you definitely need Netflix. *sidenote: Censorship is also one of the main reasons I won't shop at Wal-Mart. Did you have a bad experience? We used to do the Redbox and Blockbuster kiosks, but found the selection and availability thru Netflix is better (and you don't have to return them the next day).
